Winkie Pratney asked me to produce the cover painting for, ‘Have you Ever Seen a Worried Sparrow?’, his wife Faeona’s autobiography.
That got me thinking about what Jesus had to say about sparrows.
Five sparrows are sold for just two pennies, but God doesn't forget a one of them. Luke 12:6
So don't be afraid! You are worth much more than many sparrows. Matt 10:31
God sees us as having great value. We can learn to trust Him and rest in His hand, not as captives, but with freedom, knowing His care and His provision
Look at the birds. They don't plant, harvest, or save food in barns, but your heavenly Father feeds them. Don't you know you are worth much more than they are? Matt 6:26
Food for thought? – I hope so.
Most of my paintings are executed in oils, often over the top of other media. Many are visual stories that contain partially hidden words or imagery where the homespun and the familiar become symbols of timeless truth. My hope is that you will discover additional levels of meaning as you look at the paintings closely.
