This painting grew in strength and detail over a period of several years.
It came out of my longing to express something of the greatness of the One who made and holds everything together. I thought beyond the Big Bang theory, about a colossal, formative release of light and energy so precise that atoms, elements, molecules, the laws of physics, galaxies, stars and planets were created, all in perfect balance.
God told Job that when He brought forth the Earth, the morning stars sang together and all the Sons of God rejoiced.
I began trying to suggest the angelic hosts of heaven and the stars of the cosmos. In the end I decided that the best plan was to leave much to your imagination.

Most of my paintings are executed in oils, often over the top of other media. Many are visual stories that contain partially hidden words or imagery where the homespun and the familiar become symbols of timeless truth. My hope is that you will discover additional levels of meaning as you look at the paintings closely. If you get inspired and encouraged by my art- If you can glimpse the great, overarching purpose behind life and creation- If you can catch facets of the wonder and beauty of God's character- If you can begin to see beyond the present- - Then my paintings have succeeded!
