How do you stand strong when panic and despair permeate the surrounding smoke haze? When the heat is on and calamity looms?

Look closely and you will discover the first sparks of approaching fire. As the painting developed I realised that trees could take on personality and express emotion.

I know people who are like this upright tree. They inspire me and make me want to follow their example. Their glowing strength is drawn from roots grounded in the Bible and lived in daily relationship of trusting and hearing the God of Psalm 1 and Jeremiah 17.

The wonderful thing is that God longs to share the fresh water and light of His love, wisdom and strength with each of us. Making the way to Himself through Jesus was His idea. He understands and feels the challenges and needs we face.
